The company "Brixol" is founded in 1925 as a corporation of modest ambitions related to the production of special types of disinfecting, pest control, deodorizing and washing agents.
The first written record is from 1925 and it is about a registered patent for the production of so-called "Brixol brick". This product was a deodorant and disinfectant for premises at the same time and it was used in many public and private places (Departments, railway stations, cinemas, offices, etc.).
Since its foundation , the trademark of Brixol has been a laid snake with the cross in a circle on its back, which has been a synonymous with the prevention, a main task since the beginning.
Because of the proximity to the border, BRIXOL had to be relocated along with several other companies from Vrsac. BRIXOL became a part of "Bosnalijek" in Sarajevo. A part of the production , which hadn`t been destroyed and burnt in Podvrsanska Street after the war , continued to work as a disinfecting department within the factory "Bosnalijek".
During this period a remarkable improvement in the quality of some products under the old name Brixol had been made.
In 1956, after the arrangement with "Bosnalijek", BRIXOL moved back to Vrsac again.
After that, the company developed relatively slowly, from 1956 until 1959. Then, in 1960, it started to expand its activities. The pharmaceuticals department was founded. Then BRIXOL changed its name in "Hemofarm" and became a factory of chemical and pharmaceutical products.
But, during that period (1960-1961), it was noticed that those two departments , the disinfecting and pharmaceutical, didn`t develop in the best possible way. So, after that BRIXOL and "Hemofarm" started to work independently. During the period from 1961 until 1965 new production means were obtained and the staff improved, too.
The company BRIXOL came out of the anonymity and won an enviable reputation both in the country and abroad. A new factory with modern work and production`s conditions was built, mainly by own funds, on a new location in 1968.
In fact, it was the adaptation of the factory for medical herbs production, which was built in 1964-1965, but BRIXOL could use only the facilities, infrastructure, energy and other auxiliary production facilities.
At the end of 1971, the Brixol company made a decision to integrate with the"Interexport" company from Belgrade. On January 1st, 1972, it became a basic organization of associated activity with a new name "INEX BRIXOL", which was located in Vrsac. A lot of expansions of the manufacturing and supporting facilities were carried out in order to increase the capacity and to improve the work conditions.
On July 3rd, 1978, BRIXOL opened a new department for a softeners` production for PVC -dioktilfalat and other softener` s derivatives with the capacity of 20000 t per year.
The department was conceived as a part of a program of the processing plastics` development in Vojvodina. Both then and nowadays, the most modern technology in softener`s production enabled the supply with quality softener both in Yugoslav and Western markets.
On the domestic markets, the biggest consumers of this product are "Sintelon", "Grmec", "Novkabel", "Kotroman", "Zorka",etc.
In 1989, a department "Hemodom" was founded which produced disinfecting and deodorizing agents, personal hygiene agents, sanitation`s maintenance agents, car care products...
In the same year, BRIXOL took over "Jastreb", a factory for aircrafts and gliders` production and repair. In that way it expanded its range of products. It started to produce and repair gliders, parachutes, aircrafts, metal and wooden accessories, plastic car parts, and similar things.
In the last decade the BRIXOL company is mainly oriented to expand a production programme within the home care and personal hygiene, but also to produce the softeners and to develop the Biodizel programme.
